A Patchwork Quilt in the planning...

So I've been sat looking at all of the material I've got, and I've realised I have this increasing urge to make a patchwork quilt. Given that it was payday yesterday from one of my part-time jobs, I've decided to go all out and just make one.

I made one a year ago, and it looks like this:

That was the front of it, without the wadding and the backing and whatnot (can't find a picture of it when it was finished). I had to leave it at home because I couldn't get it in the car to bring it to uni with me so its definitely time to make another one. Because why not.

So, here's my makeshift plan. No mocking.

So I summarised I needed 25 x 40x40cm squares. Ignore that bit at the bottom. I was trying my hardest to do some maths to figure out the wadding but eventually concluded I'll figure out the wadding another day, because my brain isn't up to it at the moment.

The size of square I'll use will probably look something like this:

Aaand THIS is the material I bought (from eBay, no less...)

I had to buy two fat quarter bundles (14 bits of material in a bundle) at £23 something each. OUCH. But at least its cheaper on eBay than anywhere else. 

SO sometime soon I'm going to have a really swanky quilt on here. EXCITED or what?
